A broad form of Accidental Death coverage which includes most types of accidents including, but not limited to flight accidents, private passenger automobile, and pedestrian. The benefit limit is the total amount of payment. The amount is usually referred to as the Principal Sum. Dismemberment is a related benefit and pays a percentage of the Principal Sum for loss of specific body members.
The death benefit is paid to a beneficiary. If no beneficiary is named than payment is usually made to the travelers estate.
