Rental Car Collision

Protection for the amount of physical damage on your rental car for which the rental car company holds you personally responsible.  Only available with select trip cancellation/interruption plans, it is either included in the policy or an option that can be added for additional cost.  Coverage is for damage or loss to your rental car for the reasons listed in the plan and usually includes:

• collision
• vandalism
• theft
• fire
• windstorm
• hail

Coverage is usually secondary to any other insurance that would cover you for the same loss.  Other coverages that you might have could include your auto insurance and any coverage automatically provided by your credit card for rental car damage.  It is important to note:

• that this coverage does not include liability;
• exotic automobiles are usually not covered;
• off road vehicles are usually not covered;
• certain countries may be excluded from coverage.
