Question:  Does flight insurance cover the loss of my ticket value if I have to cancel or change my flight?

Answer:  No.  That type of coverage is called trip cancellation and interruption coverage.  Flight insurance is a form of coverage for a death that results from injuries sustained while riding as a passenger on a licensed commercial airline.

Question:  Is flight insurance also called "life insurance"?

Answer:  Sometimes it is however it is incorrect to call it "life insurance" just because it pays a lump sum (principal sum) benefit if the insured dies as the result of a covered flight accident, however, life insurance refers to a different type of insurance that pays a principal sum benefit if the insured person dies due to accidental injury or sickness.

Question:  What is a beneficiary?

Answer:  that is the person or entity that you want to receive the death benefit.  The beneficiary should have an insurable interest in the life of the insured person.
